Be careful while signing on to the contracts at Landis Properties Buildings (such as 2230 Haste Street in Berkeley). I wasn't careful about the contract, content that I was staying at a property owned by a Sociology Professor from Sacramento State. They do not renew on month to month (at least the building manager Sivaleela Lella Rao at 2230 Haste claimed), and even when they sign a 6 month lease, they will sometimes write 12 months into the contract.
